How our unique 3 phase process works
Step One - Assessment of Your Pain and Body Function
Phase 1: Clinical Assessment of your pain or dysfunction
You will experience a comprehensive clinical assessment involving a case history, clinical examination and wider ranging examination to find out what each individual joint in your body is doing to impact upon or support your area of pain.
If required, we will refer you for X-ray or MRI, but the clinical assessment is extremely comprehensive and is usually all that is required to reach conclusions about what is wrong and how this can be improved.
Phase 2: Functional Biomechanics Assessment
This is where we check your body through for movement limitations or problems which impact upon your pain during your life and in your golf.
This session involves simple movement tests which inform us of what your body currently can and cannot do well.
This information enables us to put design a specific programme which addresses both: The pain and the underlying causes of your pain
Phase 3: Swing Diagnostic
Just to be absolutely sure that we are right in our assumptions about what the functional biomechanics tell us, this short session focusses on the physical forces occurring in your body and how these impact upon your pain rather than your golf technique.
Providing you are not in too much pain during this session, you will have the opportunity to have your golf swing assessed using a swing simulator with motion capture. This will enable us to know how your body moves when you make your swing and to demonstrate to you what the physical causes for this are. Where needed, the findings in this test are checked through by one of our affiliated PGA golf pros.
Your bespoke Optimal Swing programme will take you from pain and dysfunction to improvement and improved movement.
Meaningful improvements take time to achieve, the Optimal Swing Programme is over 12 months, enabling you to both spread the costs of initial care over the longer term and also gain real improvements as your body heals, adapts and improves.
The Optimal Swing programme is constructed specifically for you and is based upon your agreed goals and test findings.
